DIY Burlap Fall Wreath

I wanted a large fall wreath for my front door but while searching I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. So…I decided to make one.

Everything used to make the wreath was bought at Michael’s. Supplies needed:

  • burlap (I used 4 rolls)
  • flowers
  • ribbon
  • large letter
  • wire (or pipe cleaners)
  • wire cutter (not pictured)
  • wreath hanger
  • wire wreath frame (not pictured)
  • fabri-tac (not pictured)

The first step is create the burlap wreath. I cut the wire into 3 inch pieces. Using 1 piece of wire I attached the burlap to the wire frame.

Without cutting the burlap, I then looped about 6 inches of burlap and secured it with another 3 inch piece of wire. I continued doing this till the roll was used and then started on another.

The final step was the add all the pretties. I used Fabri-Tac to glue the flowers, ribbon, and letter directly to the burlap. I just love the look of it on my front door!

Low-cal Raspberry Mojito

IMG_5669

Very appropriate that my first blog post is an alcoholic beverage, but hey raspberries are in season and I have all this spearmint from my garden that I need to use so it just makes sense. This drink is so tasty and low in calories to boot!!! Ingredients:

  • spearmint (about 8 leaves)
  • raspberries (about 8)
  • 1 lime
  • 2 packets of sun crystals (5 calorie sweetener)
  • 1.5 ounces of Rum (I used Bacardi)
  • diet white soda (I used diet Sierra Mist)

In a tall glass muddle about 8 mint leaves with the juice of 1 lime. IMG_5667

Add 5-6 raspberries and muddle again. IMG_5668

Fill glass with ice. Add sun crystals, rum, and soda. Garnish with raspberries, mint, and lime. Enjoy!!
